I am a huge fan of Pro Wrestling, and from time to time I’ll daydream up my own ideas for wrestling gimmicks and storylines I’d like to see play out in venues like WWE, AEW and TNA Impact. I’m nowhere near capable of being in the pro wrestling business myself, but I believe compelling stories can be and have been told within that medium. So I’ll share all of my ideas with you, and here is my latest one.
I have always been fascinated with the “rich jerk” gimmick. Everyone from Ric Flair to Ted DiBiase to Alberto Del Rio and EC3 have utilized that trope to great effect, but in my years as a fan I have yet to see this gimmick applied to wrestlers that look like me. I find this odd because in modern Television and movies, the affluent, powerful black dude has become a go-to villain (think shows like Power, Empire, Breaking Bad, The Wire and movies like American Gangster and Diary of a Mad Black Woman), not to mention some notable rich and powerful black dudes who are real-life villains (i.e. Sean “Diddler” Combs). and I’m not counting wrestlers like Pope D’Angelo Dinero, the Rock and MVP, whose wealth and affluence are actually a small part of their main gimmick. No, I want a black heel who is a pain in the @$$ simply because he is rich, not the other way around. So with that in mind, I present to you this gimmick.
Name: Dr. Lucius Moneybags
Nickname: the Money Bawse Playa
Ring gear: always wrestles in an expensive business suit. Carries a briefcase to the ring that is supposedly full of money (a la Tully Blanchard), and uses it as a weapon when the ref isn't looking. In one instance the briefcase is opened to reveal it is full of unpaid bills and bounced checks instead of cash.
Finisher: the check cutter (basic cutter with theatrics )
Other signature Moves: sitdown power bomb (The Direct Deposit)
second rope splash (The Stock Crash)
Gimmick: he is a typical rich jerk, except he is black. Carries himself like the kingpins on popular black crime TV shows like Power and The Wire. Claims he read JBL's book on financial management and used it to make himself a multimillionaire. Likes to pull a wad of cash out of his pockets and “make it rain” on defeated foes.
Other notes about the gimmick:
-has an entourage of developmental and local wrestlers accompanying him to the ring. And brags that they are lower-tier wrestlers who may “someday” be WWE stars if they roll with him.
-keeps JBL as his personal financial advisor (re: manager)
-calls himself Dr. because it sounds expensive.
-claims to operate multiple charities, but in vignettes always visits needy people and finds reasons to not contribute to their cause.
-claims to own multiple businesses, but they are stereotypical black businesses like barber shops, used car dealerships and chicken restaurants. In vignettes you can show wrestlers buying his products or services and getting ripped off (the car is a lemon, or the haircut is lopsided, or the chicken is still frozen, etc.). also runs a pyramid investment scheme where he never clearly explains what people are investing in and where their money is going
One Storyline involves him running a massive Ponzi scheme on a number of prominent WWE superstars. Each week he is shown selling his “new investment opportunity” that will make them as rich as him. Meanwhile other wrestlers that already enrolled come up to him and ask him about their money, and he keeps dodging them and giving excuses. It culminates when some wrestles find out the truth, and everyone he had scammed surrounds him in the ring. They threaten to press charges but instead are persuaded to use “locker rom justice.” and they all take turns hitting their finishers on him.

Love the idea!
You could even tie in some of the WWE villains, like Right to Censor or rven Vince MacMahon. Maybe he challenges people, and if he wins, he owns the rights to their name, or they have to "work" for him, until they defeat him and win it back?
This sounds like Trump with a 'fro!
